Debtfree Day aims to change the way people think about debt, by offering them help and advice and providing them with a financial plan to get out of debt quickly. The Debtfree Day website is the company’s primary communication channel, with the objective of selling the Debtfree Day proposition and convincing visitors to sign-up for a free ‘snapshot’ of their current financial situation.
The website provides information, calculators, games and newsletters to deliver the message in a fun and appealing way, and to encourage visitors to recommend the site to their friends, and to return in the future.
Main features:
A friendly, clear look & feel and easy-to-use website to make visitors feel comfortable and to convey the impression that getting out of debt is more fun and easier than they think.
Flash calculators to provide useful information about a visitor’s financial situation in terms that they can understand.
A Flash game, to provide some light relief at the same time as reinforcing the underlying messages about debt.
A CMS (Content Management System) that allows the Debtfree Day staff to keep the main areas of content up-to-date.
A monthly newsletter. Visitors are encouraged to subscribe to the newsletter at various points on the website. Admin users create new newsletters simply by editing predefined templates in a WYSIWYG editor, and then can choose to send the newsletter to all subscribed users or a filtered list (for example, only those who responded to a certain special offer).
The website was developed using Java, Tomcat, MySql and Flash.
